How to get crash dump Oracle Solaris


This documentation shows how to send dump request to a server which hangs. It 'll help you to analyze the problem.

Oracle Solaris  Hardware

  • From OS  command  line
#/usr/sbin/reboot -d 
  • Oracle  Solaris  M-Series  Server:
XSCF> reset -d 0 panic

DomainID to panic:00

Continue? [y|n] :y

00 :Panicked

*Note*

This command only issues the instruction to reset.

The result of the instruction can be checked by the "showlogs power".

XSCF> console -d 0 -y

Connect to DomainID 0?[y|n] :y

  • SPARC T5xx0/T3-x/T4-x/T5-x
> set /SYS keyswitch_state=normal

Set ’keyswitch_state’ to ’normal’

-> set /HOST send_break_action=dumpcore

Set 'send_break_action' to 'dumpcore'

-> start /SP/console
